Animal Shelters: The Benefits
Animal Shelters are a big part of helping dogs find homes for a number of reasons.
1. Shelter's give dog's a home for a temporary amount of time.
A shelter will take dogs in to give them a place to stay so they don't have to be out on the streets, in the cold, or in the heat.
2. Shelter's dogs cost a lot less.
A dog in a shelter will cost at least 8 times less than purchasing a dog from a breeder! When my boyfriend bought out dog Droopy (his story is on the blog!) he cost us less than a new TV!
3. Shelter's help dogs find their 'furever' home.
Shelter's allow people to come and visit the dogs. Usually, shelter's have available times throughout the week that allows people to come in, learn the background of the dog, and hopefully leave with their new companion!
Shelter's are really a big part of the adopting and not shopping process. Some of the dog's in the shelter's have had a horrible past while others are still new. Shelter's can have dog's of all ages, from puppies and seniors, so it is a good chance that the shelter you visit would have a dog of your liking!
